The 15th annual K-8 Art Exhibition at Empire State Plaza runs March 4-22 with a special reception honoring the participating young artists scheduled for March 6.
The reception, which will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the South Concourse Performance Space (Madison Avenue entrance), will include remarks from keynote speaker Rae' Frasier - a local artist, community arts advocate and artist mentor who works with student-artists in ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú and Schenectady. All participating students and their families are invited to attend.
"Please join us in celebrating and recognizing our students' hard work and creativity," said the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's Fine Arts Supervisor Kate Wright.
The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú has 274 pieces - from 15 elementary and middle schools - on display this year. All were inspired by the Empire State Plaza's abstract expressionist art collection.
The 2024 exhibit contains more than 1,100 pieces from 16 local school districts.
