On Tuesday, sixth-graders at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú International Center created intricate artistic designs inspired by their social-studies lessons about the Mali Empire of West Africa.
The young art historians are students of resident teacher Ebi Onwe and mentor teacher Dylon Peertamsingh. They studied traditional mud cloth artwork of Mali and painted their own versions on squares of cardboard that will later be compiled into a “quilt” to be displayed in their classroom.
Another great interdisciplinary lesson at our international school!
