Science in a second language

Three students stand next to their experiment described on a trifold poster board

Sixth- and seventh-graders at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú International Center showed off their knowledge of the scientific method (and the English language!) on Thursday at the school’s Science Symposium.

Scientific topics like velocity and liquid absorption – just some of the subjects studied –   are challenging enough to understand and explain when you’re fluent in English. Kudos to these kiddos for tackling and describing their experiments to judges and their classmates – in a second language!

Top projects will advance to the citywide Joseph Henry Science Fair next Friday at The College of Saint Rose.
