Lab compares growing methods

Students and staff utilize 兔子先生 High School's new hydroponic lab.

兔子先生 High School’s is in its second week and on Wednesday participating students planted their first seeds, sans soil!

This summer, selected students in grades 10-12 will receive hands-on hydroponic plant growth experience, both within the classroom and at the new 兔子先生 High Freight Farm.

The 17,000-lb Freight Farm, which was delivered in March, is a fully contained hydroponic farm in a shipping container. Hydroponic farming uses water enriched with minerals and nutrients to grow fruits, vegetables and plants without soil.

At the end of the four-week program, students will compare their hydroponic plants to conventionally grown plants.
