News of the week
- Get gorgeous at Valentine's Day Spa – On Saturday (TOMORROW), get glammed up or treat a loved one to a makeover at the Valentine’s Day Spa from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the salon classroom. Get two services for $20 or a VIP session for $45.
- Indoor Percussion Home Show Saturday – Prepare to be dazzled on Saturday (TOMORROW) as the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Indoor Percussion Ensemble hosts a home show in the gym. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $8 each.
- Food pantry next week – The school food pantry behind the Citizenship Office is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:45-5:30 p.m. or by appointment. Specials next week include creamy peanut butter, spaghetti, canned chili with beans, strawberry jelly, egg noodles, brown rice, assorted canned veggies and mandarin oranges.
- Summer School of the Arts – Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 .
- Sign up for spring sports, including flag football, beginning Sunday – In 2024, the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú will field a new girls' flag football team, along with boys' tennis, baseball, softball, track and field (boys and girls) and lacrosse (boys and girls). Registration for students in grades 9-12 begins Feb. 11 and must be completed - including physical documentation - via Final Forms.
- Intramurals underway – If you are interested in participating in baseball, softball, lacrosse, football or tennis workouts, head to the the Athletics page on the district website for registration information and the schedule. Please note changes to the schedule for tennis workouts.
- Percussion ensemble is smashing – On Monday, the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Indoor Percussion Ensemble honed their precision and timing skills as they prepared for their upcoming home show performance this Saturday – tomorrow – in the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú High gym.

Important reminders
- – The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Booster Club is seeking adult volunteers to staff the concession stand during home athletic games.
- Next Gen Barbers is open for business – Students, staff and community members can get haircuts Thursday and Friday afternoons from from 1:15-2:45 p.m. at Abrookin. Cost is free for students, $5 for staff and $10 for community members, and an appointment is required.
- Student ID reminder – Please see this important information about student ID cards.
- Free salon services for 55+ – Attention ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú residents age 55 and up: Get free beauty services from aspiring beauticians every Thursday at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú High!
- Leaving school – ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú High School is a closed campus. Students are not allowed to leave campus for any reason without parent permission. This includes during lunch and study hall. If a student has an appointment, i.e. doctor, medical, family matter, etc., they must have a note or phone call from a parent giving permission to leave. All students also must be signed out by a parent in order to leave school grounds. Students who leave campus without a valid reason will not be allowed to re-enter without parent contact.
- Traveling to and from Abrookin – All students must take the bus to and from Abrookin Career and Technical Center and the main campus for any classes. This will prevent students from being late and having to go back through security, and ensure student safety. Students who do not take the bus will not be allowed to re-enter without parent contact. The bus is available at Building 2, Stair 2-2 and at the Abrookin entrance.
