Twana Davis from the National Coalition Building Institute attended the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s Community Roundtable meeting at Harriet Gibbons Student Services Center on June 7 to provide an update on of her organization’s work at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú High School this winter and spring.
The presentation included feedback from 10 focus groups NCBI held with students, employees, parents and guardians following last December’s conflicts among students at school and in the community. You can listen to Davis’ presentation and the discussion that followed .
You also can download the NCBI presentation.
Note that this presentation also was planned for a community forum at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú High on June 4. That meeting was cancelled due to lack of attendance that evening.
Looking ahead to the 2024-25 school year, NCBI’s continued work at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú High will include reconciliation sessions with students, identifying student leaders to serve as bridge builders between diverse groups at school, and leadership training for a school diversity resource team.
