News of the week

  • Jazzmanian Devils gig on Saturday (tomorrow) – Take a ride to the country and hear the advanced jazz ensemble play their first gig of the school year! They'll be playing from 2-5 p.m. at Wayward Lane Brewing, 255 Ward Lane, Schoharie, 12157. Besides great music, there will be food trucks and beverages, and it's all happening in a beautiful setting.
     
  • Early dismissal next Friday – Our annual "Go Home Early" emergency dismissal drill will be Friday, Oct. 11, and school will dismiss 15 minutes early. The State Education Department requires all schools to conduct this test each year. Learn more
     
  • Homecoming weekend – Last Saturday was a picture-perfect day for many events happening at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú High! Check out Facebook photo albums from the , the  against South Glens Falls and the against Schenectady.
     
  • Athlete accolades  – We are thrilled to share that Daaron Harrell was recognized as the  and was nominated for the Heart of a Giant Award. Let's show our support for Daaron and today!
     
  • Voter registration event – Our students enjoyed an interactive and informative on Friday, October 4. We are thankful for the League of Women Voters of New York State and the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú County Board of Elections for facilitating this event.
     
  • College fair days – Our students have enjoyed the opportunity to interact with representatives from a variety of colleges and universities during our recent . We loved seeing our students ask questions and seek out key information as they explore next steps for post-secondary education.
     
  • Financial aid night – On Thursday, October 17 at 6 p.m., the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú High School Guidance Department will host an event to support seniors and their families as they navigate the college financial aid process. This event will take place in the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú High auditorium.

Important reminders

  • 'Villain Cabaret' and prop donations – The Theater Ensemble will hold two performances of “Villain Cabaret” on Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2 in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. The ensemble also is looking for donations of clothing, furniture and household items to supplement their supply of props.   • The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Booster Club (ABC) needs your help – Please considering during the fall season. In addition to student-athletes, the ABC funds: author visits, our food pantry, marching band, robotics, indoor percussion, Junior ROTC and many more organizations and groups that make our district special!
     
  • Student parking update – Juniors and seniors may now apply online for limited spots in the Washington Avenue lot. Learn more and link to the parking application.
     
  • Visitor parking – Any visitors who park in the Washington Avenue lot should only park in the designated parking spaces and should not park on the yellow crosshatched lines.
     
  • Attention grades 10-11! - ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú High School will administer the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT) on Friday, Oct. 25 at 8:30 a.m. There is no school this day due to staff development and parent-teacher conferences.  The cost is $18.
