The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú will hold a March 9 virtual workshop called “Anxiety and Depression in Kids: What to Look for and What to Do.”
The session is from 6-7:30 p.m. and open to family members, educators and others who want to learn more. You can link to the event here.
Many children and teens have fears and worries and may feel sad and hopeless from time to time. Some fears and worries are typical. But persistent or extreme forms of fear and sadness could be due to anxiety or depression.
Children and teens cannot learn well when they are anxious and depressed. In the March 9 session, participants will learn how to recognize anxiety and depression and how each of these may affect learning. Participants also will learn ways to meet the educational and social needs of depressed and/or anxious youth at home and in school.
Gina Cosgrove, Psy.D., will lead the session.
