A team of students from three district elementary schools took first place in their division this past weekend at an Odyssey of the Mind regional competition. And they’ll travel to Syracuse next month to compete on the state level!

The students all take part in the one-to-one literacy program run by our amazing community partners at Wizard's Wardrobe. Members of the winning team, L-R, are Autumn King, Giffen Memorial Elementary School fourth-grader; Michael Davis and Ma'Shiya Cain, Giffen third-graders; Iliyah Munoz, ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú School of Humanities fifth-grader; and Mina Mirzaie, Arbor Hill Elementary School fourth-grader.

The team will head to Syracuse next month to compete in the state-level Odyssey of the Mind contest.

This is the second year Wizards Wardrobe has fielded a team to Odyssey of the Mind, an international educational competition that encourages students to develop creative problem-solving skills through team-based challenges.

Congratulations, and good luck at the state competition! And thank you, Wizards Wardrobe!
