Thinking spring

We haven't quite said goodbye to fall, but we already have thoughts of spring on our minds.

I'm excited to share that NSES is partnering with the Vegetable Project and Sage College to host a Day of Planting, where every student at NSES will have the opportunity to plant a tulip bulb. This is a wonderful way to get our students engaged with nature and the changing seasons.

Additionally, we will be hosting An Evening in the Garden on May 6, 2025, and it is our hope that our tulips will be on full display for all to enjoy.

A big shout out to our dedicated Garden Club who did the prep work to get our beds ready for planting the tulips. The students have been assisting with spreading compost and topsoil to make for easier planting. Their enthusiasm and hard work is truly appreciated.

I'm looking forward to these exciting spring events and the opportunity to engage our students in hands-on learning about gardening and the natural world.

Student Leadership Team

Applications for any fifth grader interested in running for the Student Leadership Team (SLT)  were submitted this week. Primary elections will be held in each homeroom this month and the general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Fourth graders interested in being on the Student Leadership Team will be interviewed and selected by the incoming fifth grade SLT.
